Gen.G GC Come Back From 1-2 Down to Win Game Changers Pacific

Gen.G GC lost to FENNEL GC in the upper semifinal, dropped into the lower bracket and beat them anyway. On September 20 they came back from 1-2 down in the Bo5 Grand Final to win 3-2 and take Game Changers 2026: Pacific. Both finalists now head to the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Four series in four days
Gen.G GC beat Rising Esports GC 2-0 in the upper quarterfinal. They then lost 1-2 to FENNEL GC in the Main Event upper semifinal.
From there they played every day to the final:
September 17: 2-1 over swaglord9000
September 18: 2-1 over FULL SENSE SISU
September 19: 3-2 over Team Falcons Vega in the lower final
September 20: 3-2 over FENNEL GC in the Grand Final
That is 16 maps across the four series.
How the Grand Final swung
FENNEL GC led 2-1 after taking Summit 13-9 and Lotus 13-8. On Lotus they won the first 10 rounds and led 10-2 at the half. Gen.G GC did not lose another map. The full breakdown is on the series page.
Split, Gen.G GC 13-9: Gen.G GC won 8 of 12 defense rounds. In round 8, miNt won a 1v3 clutch to make it 5-3.
Summit, FENNEL GC 13-9: Level at 9-9, then FENNEL GC won rounds 19 to 22 in a row.
Lotus, FENNEL GC 13-8: FENNEL GC led 10-2 at the half, winning 10 of 12 on attack.
Ascent, Gen.G GC 13-9: FENNEL GC won four straight to lead 10-9. Gen.G GC answered with three straight defuses in rounds 20-22.
Sunset, Gen.G GC 13-4: Gen.G GC won 10 of 12 defense rounds in the first half. FENNEL GC won 2 of 12 on attack.
Why did Gen.G GC win?
They won the pistol rounds. Gen.G GC won 14 of the 20 pistol rounds in the series. In each half where a team won the pistol round, it also won the next round.
