Although it has been discussed by the organization and players for a short while, things are now official. Both Diondre “YaBoiDre” Bond and Alex aproto Protopapas let it be known near the end of 2021 that they are available for other opportunities. Now, Luminosity Gaming has confirmed that both players are no longer under contract and are exiting the organization.

YaBoiDre and aproto are now officially out of Luminosity Gaming

Let’s start with YaBoiDre. He announced on November 8, 2021 that Luminosity Gaming allowed him to look for offers as a restricted free agent. He followed up with the indication that he wasn’t benched and the decision was mutual between himself and the organization.

YaBoiDre famously played with the first iteration of 100 Thieves VALORANT before a rebuild took place. Then in February of 2021, he joined LG and took the organization’s roster to new levels. He played the duelist role well, making it a surprise that he wants to play flex or smokes, though more recently he has played Sova.

The last day of 2021 saw aproto make a similar announcement. He had nothing but kind things to say about the organization while advising of he benching. In looking for a new team, he followed up by stating he is most comfortable on a Sentinel/Controller role, but is willing to play flex.

Luminosity Gaming signed aproto on August 14, 2020. He was a part of the team’s first VALORANT squad and became a mainstay for LG. Through several roster additions and subtractions, he remained on the active roster until his announcement.

Luminosity Gaming expressed gratitude for their time with the organization, but finally made their departure from the VALORANT roster official. This leaves LG with three members:

  • Will dazzLe Loafman
  • Tanner TiGG Spanu
  • Kaleb “moose” Jayne
