For now, Valorant has three maps: Split, Haven, and Bind. However, a majority of players would like to see one or two more maps come to the game. Fortunately for those players, data-miners have found something in the game files. While there’s not a lot to go on, we do have concrete evidence of another map in development. The leaked map, which is supposedly called Ascent, takes inspiration from one of the most well-known cities in the world – Venice, Italy. Let’s take a peek at what the data-miners found and try to estimate when this map could make its debut in Valorant.

Valorant Ascent minimap and assets

Thanks to leaks from Twitter user @UlfricTheThird, Ascent is now out in the open. While Riot Games was trying to keep Ascent’s design a secret, the company did state that a fourth map would be arriving in Valorant closer to launch. Of course, we don’t know exactly when that will be but we do know it’s set to occur sometime in the summer of 2020.

In our first leak, we have a clear view of the Ascent mini-map. Keep in mind, these images are subject to change and are not official by any means.

The map looks to be nicely balanced – Attackers will have a lot of options to attack bombsites, and Defenders should have some hiding options, especially in the small room at the B bombsite.

Next up, once again thanks to UlfricTheThird, we’ve got some assets from the actual map.

Obviously, we’re getting Venitian vibes from those images, but that’s all we’ve got so far. Nothing more than some assets (which look great) and the mini-map. More images should be added to the game files as Valorant gets closer to launching. It’s also possible that Riot Games could confirm Ascent as the fourth map before any more leaks surface. Of course, that means we’ll have to wait for any official or unofficial intel on Valorant’s new map.
