IGZIST have announced their entry into VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Japan with the acquisition of Kim “Lakia” Jong-min from DRX VS. Lakia will be joining the roster alongside the core of ex-BlackBird Ignis players; Masayuki “oitaN” Takahashi, Shibasaki “poem” Yumeki, Shoki “Pepper” Banjo and Shuma “RIPablo” Ikeda. The organization has also signed Seigi “Ask” Yamamoto to round out a six-man roster.

IGZIST sign Lakia

The news of Lakia‘s roster move comes after DRX VS announced that the player has been moved to an inactive role on the roster just last week. Lakia, who had previously played for NUTURN Gaming, joined DRX VS as part of a six-man roster after an impressive performance at VCT Masters: Reykjavik. But he saw little to no playing time, coming in on just one map for them all through VCT Masters: Berlin and VALORANT Champions.

The move of Lakia to VCT Japan should not come as a surprise to anyone as the recent roster shuffle saw a large influx of Korean players move to Japan. Lakia will join his ex-NUTURN Gaming teammates Seo “Suggest” Jae-young and Park “allow” Sang-wook who will also be competing in VCT Japan for 2022.

Currently, there isn’t much to say about the organization IGZIST as whole. However, their core members of ex-BlackBird Ignis did compete in the last VCT 2021 Japan – Challengers Playoffs. The team back then did not do very well as they lost all their games and finished dead last in a double elimination style bracket.

With the addition of Lakia the expectations will be high for this team. As things stand, IGZIST are:

  • Seigi “Ask” Yamamoto
  • Masayuki “oitaN” Takahashi
  • Yumeki “poem” Shibasaki
  • Shoki “Pepper” Banjo
  • Shuma “RIPablo” Ikeda
  • Kim “Lakia” Jong-min

Stay tuned to Run It Back for more breaking VALORANT news as VCT 2022 gets going in all regions!
