Fight Night Arena, presented by Giant Slayer, is back with week 12. The new format is still in place. Every two weeks, two nights of Valorant action takeover the Giant Slayer Twitch stream. For this edition of Fight Night Arena, there were some scheduling conflicts that caused delays. Therefore, both matches took place on separate streams at the same time. That’s a double dose of Fight Night Arena fun without having to wait between matches. Another interesting piece of news is that Fight Night Arena is now allowing Killjoy to be selected.

China Nguyen and Way2French battled it out on the main stream, while the secondary stream played host to Moon Raccoons versus Demon Time. With this recent format change, the two winners from Night One head to Night Two and face off at the top of the show. The winner of that then goes on to challenge the Fight Night Arena champions in an attempt to dethrone them and return for the following edition.

China Nguyen vs Way2French

Map One

Ascent was the starting map for this series. The team compositions are fairly similar with the differences being a Breach for Way2French and a Raze for China Nguyen. Way2French started off with unforgiving defense, but China Nguyen guaranteed they would not be shut out as the attackers. They would tie up the rounds 4:4. Paincakes then showed off with an incredible ace after planting the spike, taking out the entirety of Way2French.

That momentum pushed China Nguyen to 11 straight rounds. Way2French made it their mission to gather some momentum of their own, coming back as the attackers. They would be at match point until Dcop snagged his own ace to force map one to overtime. A third ace of the game for China Nguyen, this time from tyti, ends overtime 14:12.

Map Two

The three site map, Haven, was the second on deck for these two powerhouse teams. China Nguyen started off hot with Paincakes doing tons of damage again. China Nguyen had no problem snagging the first nine rounds of this game. Way2French would finally pick up a round, which would lead to a second. China Nguyen quickly responded with their 10th, 11th, and 12th rounds. They went on to finish the map 13:2 and advanced to Night Two with a 2:0 victory over Way2French.

Moon Raccoons vs Demon Time

Map One

Map one mirrors the other contest game, being Ascent. Moon Raccoons opt for the Killjoy selection and neither teams ran with a Sage. While the map may have mirrored the primary stream’s game, the way things started out certainly did not. Moon Raccoons wasted no time in pulling far ahead against Demon Time. Moon Raccoons would continue the domination into the next half, easily taking the map 13:3, thanks to a stellar outing from Mag1c.

Map Two

Map two for this match up was Haven, as well. The compositions pretty much stayed the same, with Killjoy making her second appearance for Demon Time. The first several rounds went back and forth, quite differently than Ascent. Moon Raccoons again, though, would pull ahead. Demon Time would put up more of a fight this time around. They would force a third map, changing the tune played out on Ascent. Map two went their way 13:11, with well-rounded efforts from both teams here.

Map Three

Split was the tiebreaker map. Moon Raccoons started the third and final map of the series quite strong. They would take six rounds in a row before Demon Time got their first on the board. A solid four kill round from Stealthy, alongside a Raze grenade team kill in the next, ensured Moon Raccoons didn’t allow another first half round to Demon Time. As quick as the second half started, it ended with Moon Raccoons as the victors. They took map three 13:1, with an overall series count of 2:1.

Night Two will see Moon Raccoons facing off against China Nguyen. The winner of that will then battle the current champions, Pretty Boyz!
